Woodfired stoneware jar

Posted in Pottery on June 26, 2011 by davidwnelson

Woodfired stoneware jar 18 in x 12 in . Fired in the Anagama kiln at Ken Shenstone’s in Albion ,MI  in October of 2010. All the marks on this pot were made by the fire and the ash no glazes or slips were applied . This clay had  a lot of fireclay and grog so there wasn’t much reaction with the ash but did get  nice marking from the fire.
